India and Switzerland: A Partnership in Science and Innovation, Says Ambassador Maya

New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Swiss Ambassador to India, Maya Tissafi, emphasized the significance of collaboration in science and innovation during a recent meeting with Indian Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. She described the encounter with Swiss President Guy Parmelin as an opportunity to deepen the partnership between the two nations.

In a post on social media platform X, Tissafi noted that one of the most important aspects of the India-Switzerland partnership is the chance to learn from each other in the fields of science and innovation. The meeting with President Parmelin was seen as a pivotal moment to explore new avenues for cooperation amid rapidly evolving technologies.

Notably, India hosted the 2026 AI Summit, with Geneva set to take the lead in 2027. President Parmelin is scheduled to visit the Noida International Airport in Greater Noida on Tuesday. Local police and administration have ramped up security measures in anticipation of the visit. The President is expected to travel from Delhi to the airport by road, prompting increased security along expressways and major routes.

During his visit, Parmelin will assess various airport facilities, particularly the cargo terminal and its capabilities. Preparations by airport management are in full swing to ensure a successful visit. Given the significance of the Noida International Airport as a major aviation hub for western Uttar Pradesh and the entire NCR, the visit underscores its international importance. The President will also be briefed on passenger amenities and future plans for cargo operations and international connectivity, as the airport gears up for an expansion of international flights.
