New Delhi, May 30: The central government has taken a significant step to make the resolution of citizen complaints easier, faster, and more effective. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launched a new AI-based chatbot named ‘Samadhan Didi’, describing it as a crucial initiative to enhance the government’s grievance redressal system for the public.
Addressing the media, Dr. Singh stated that ‘Samadhan Didi’ is currently available in all 22 scheduled Indian languages as per the Constitution. The government is also working to include regional and local languages in the platform.
He emphasized that India is a linguistically diverse country, making it essential to provide government services and grievance redressal platforms in languages that citizens are comfortable with. This approach will ensure greater public participation and make the system more inclusive.
The Union Minister noted that prior to 2014, approximately 200,000 complaints were registered annually. This number has now surged to around 2.5 to 3 million. He attributed this increase to the growing public trust, timely actions, and improved accountability.
Dr. Singh also mentioned that several countries have shown interest in India’s grievance redressal system. Nations like the Maldives, Mauritius, and various African countries are keen to study this model. The government plans to promote ‘Samadhan Didi’ extensively through social media to maximize its reach.
‘Samadhan Didi’ is a voice-based, multilingual complaint registration assistant featuring AI-driven smart categorization. Citizens can register their complaints via voice or text in various Indian languages. The chatbot will analyze the complaint and automatically forward it to the relevant department and category, eliminating the need for users to navigate a complex selection process.
