NDA Rally Sparks DMK Unease, Says Tamil Nadu BJP

Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad has accused the ruling DMK of showing signs of political anxiety following the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally held in Madurantakam. He defended AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami against repeated attacks from DMK leaders after the event.

Prasad criticised Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and DMK MP Kanimozhi for calling Palaniswami a ‘slave’ of the BJP. He described such language as indicative of DMK’s inability to counter the growing momentum of the NDA ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. According to him, the Madurantakam rally sent clear signals of change across Tamil Nadu.

The BJP spokesperson claimed that the massive turnout at the rally has unsettled DMK leadership, particularly Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and his family members, who are increasingly worried about losing political ground.

Prasad said, under the coordination of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the NDA has emerged as a united and disciplined alliance in the state. He added that Palaniswami, along with Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, has conducted extensive tours across the state to expose corruption, governance failures, and unfulfilled promises of the DMK government.

Responding to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s outreach to women voters, Prasad strongly condemned the statements as irresponsible and misleading. He highlighted that central government’s women-centric welfare schemes have benefited millions of families in Tamil Nadu.

He further said the joint presence of Prime Minister Modi and Palaniswami symbolizes the ‘double-engine governance model’ that the alliance intends to present to voters in 2026. The NDA remains committed to development, administrative stability, and transparent governance.

Prasad also accused DMK of resorting to personal attacks to divert public attention from issues like inflation, law and order concerns, and alleged corruption. He concluded by expressing full confidence that the NDA will secure a clear majority and form the next government in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming assembly elections.
