Navy Valor Park Set to Open in Lucknow with Minister Rajnath Singh

Lucknow, May 27: The Navy Valor Park, dedicated to the valor, courage, and technical prowess of the Indian Navy, is nearing completion in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh inspected the ongoing construction of the Navy Valor Museum and Open Air Museum at the CGCT complex.

This ambitious project will be inaugurated on May 30 in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. During the inspection, the tourism minister instructed the executing agency to ensure that the construction work is completed on time and to high standards. He reviewed the progress of various construction activities and provided necessary guidance.

Jaiveer Singh emphasized that the Navy Valor Park is not just a park but a tribute to the brave naval personnel of the country. He stated that it would be a unique gift from the state government to the residents of the capital, allowing visitors to closely experience the courage, discipline, and duty of the Indian Navy. He noted that the decommissioned warship ‘Gomati’ would become a new identity for Lucknow and a major tourist attraction.

The project is being developed under the joint supervision of the Indian Navy and the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department. The museum will showcase several authentic naval artifacts related to the Indian Navy ship Gomati, including an anchor, AK-726 medium-range gun, CET-53M submarine obstacle system, JIF-101 launcher, capstan drum, main mast, and ship propeller.

Additionally, the Open Air Museum will feature the iconic TU-142 aircraft and SK-42B helicopter of the Indian Navy. The museum will utilize modern technology to exhibit the history of the Navy, maritime security, and combat capabilities through curated displays. For the fiscal year 2024-25, an approval of ₹23.66 crore has been granted for the project, with a revised cost of ₹23.17 crore including the initial phase of work.

Furthermore, an additional ₹5 crore has been allocated for the establishment of the TU-142 aircraft and curation activities in the fiscal year 2025-26. This museum aims to familiarize future generations with the glorious history of the Indian Navy and its role in national security, while also inspiring patriotism and interest in military services among the youth.
