Hyderabad, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Central AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav called for enhanced access to quality AYUSH services during a national workshop held in Hyderabad. The event, organized by the NITI Aayog at Kanha Shanti Vanam, saw participation from senior officials of over 30 states and union territories, along with experts from various organizations.
Minister Jadhav emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among the central government, states, and union territories to improve the reach and effectiveness of AYUSH systems. He urged a stronger focus on quality, accessibility, and community-centered delivery of AYUSH health services to meet the evolving health needs of the population.
Professor (Dr.) M. Srinivas discussed the importance of technology-integrated and evidence-based approaches for integrated healthcare, highlighting their potential to improve health outcomes in India and beyond.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the AYUSH Ministry, underscored the critical role of states and union territories in strengthening the AYUSH ecosystem and ensuring effective implementation and delivery of services at the grassroots level.
The workshop provided a platform for sharing experiences, best practices, and innovative approaches in key areas such as AYUSH service delivery, education, research, capacity building, and integration with the broader healthcare system.
Discussions confirmed the importance of center-state cooperation in building a robust, accessible, and community-centered AYUSH system, advancing the government’s vision for holistic and integrated healthcare for all.
Additionally, the National Institute of Ayurveda Teaching and Research (ITRA) in Jamnagar signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Heartfulness Institute (HFI) at Kanha Shanti Vanam. This MoU aims to leverage the complementary strengths of ITRA in Ayurvedic education and clinical practice with HFI’s expertise in meditation, yoga, lifestyle practices, and environmental initiatives.
The partnership seeks to promote a preventive and holistic approach to healthcare. The agreement, signed in August 2026 by ITRA Director Prof. Tanuja Nasari and Kumar Kannan from HFI, includes collaborative research, student and faculty exchange programs, academic initiatives, knowledge sharing, capacity building, innovation, and intellectual property development. This collaboration will also enhance research and academic cooperation in areas related to disease prevention and holistic health.
This initiative aligns with the AYUSH Ministry’s efforts to promote evidence-based research, preventive healthcare, quality education, and the global promotion of Ayurveda, while also fostering overall health and sustainable development.
