Imran Masood Affirms Opposition Unity Behind Rahul Gandhis Leadership

Saharanpur, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Congress MP Imran Masood recently addressed key electoral issues in Saharanpur, expressing strong support for Rahul Gandhi‘s leadership within the opposition. His comments came in response to Gandhi’s inquiries regarding the Election Commission’s actions and the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

In a conversation, Masood stated, “The flame ignited by Rahul Gandhi has the backing of the entire opposition. We will expose Gyanesh Kumar.” When questioned about his alignment with Akhilesh Yadav, he remarked, “How can you say they are not together? They are united.”

Responding to VHP leader Alok Kumar’s remarks, Masood emphasized that there are substantial grounds against Gyanesh Kumar, as presented factually by Gandhi. He criticized Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s comments on democracy, asserting, “They continue to loot, and they should have no immunity from accountability. There is no anti-incumbency against them; votes are cast against them, yet they remain in power. Democracy is being dismantled.”

On Home Minister Amit Shah’s focus on drug issues in Punjab, Masood pointed out, “He has raised this issue before. Their government is in power. The drugs cross the border under their watch. Therefore, the primary responsibility lies with them, followed by the state government.”

Regarding Asaduddin Owaisi’s alliance comments, Masood stated, “We aim to prevent communal polarization.”

Fellow Congress MP Sukdev Bhagat also spoke, noting the significance of October 2nd, Gandhi’s birthday. He remarked, “Today marks the day Gandhi showed the world a path to express dissent peacefully. It is a day to remember his ideals, and there is no better occasion than today to express our democratic rights.”
