Mumbai, August 2: National spokesperson for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Nasim Siddiqui, responded on Sunday to Priyanka Gandhi’s statement regarding cow urine experts.
Siddiqui remarked, “If this statement is investigated properly, those opposing it will likely be connected to the BJP in some way. No scientist can advocate for cow urine. Science is based on experiments and facts, not on emotional matters or superstitions.”
He further stated, “If Baba Ramdev promotes cow urine, that’s fine, but if any scientist in India discusses it, it tarnishes India’s image globally. People view India differently. They say the world is talking about science, while Indians are still entangled in cow urine and dung. This will not aid the country’s progress.”
Commenting on banners showcasing Dimple Yadav as a potential Chief Ministerial candidate in Uttar Pradesh, Siddiqui expressed, “This is a very positive development. If a woman becomes the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the NCP will welcome it. The initiative to promote women and provide them reservations was taken by Sharad Pawar. We have always fought for women’s upliftment and rights. If a woman becomes the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh or Maharashtra, we will support her.”
Regarding the recent terrorist attack in Kulgam, Siddiqui stated, “Whenever there has been an attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the accusation has been that terrorists ask victims about their religion before killing them. Terrorism has no religion. The individuals helping the injured were also from the Muslim community. This is a conspiracy to polarize politics.”
He also appealed to the media, saying, “I urge the media to highlight positive actions. A boy named Junaid spent millions feeding people at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for a month. No media covered him because he was named Abdul.”
Siddiqui expressed strong objections to the FIR filed against Rahul Gandhi and three MPs for protesting in Parliament. He said, “If there is a protest inside Parliament, or if Pappu Yadav exposes a case of theft while disguised as a sadhu, and an FIR is filed against them, nothing could be more disgraceful. This indicates that democracy is weakening, and there is no longer any space for democracy in this country. This FIR is wrong and should not have been filed. It is the right of opposition MPs.”
