Nationwide Celebrations Mark Janmashtami as Devotees Flock to Temples

New Delhi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : The festive spirit of Janmashtami is palpable across India as devotees gather in large numbers at temples to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. On this auspicious occasion, BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri, expressing his joy at witnessing the divine festivities.

Speaking to reporters, Pradhan shared, “I had the privilege of visiting Mahaprabhu Jagannath today on this holy occasion. I prayed for the welfare of the world, our citizens, and the state of Odisha. The vibrant influence of Sanatan will drive the development of this country, and connecting with spirituality will lead to individual growth.”

In Varanasi, the ISKCON temple is bustling with activity as devotees celebrate Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. Smita Yadav, a visitor at the temple, conveyed her wishes, saying, “This is a significant festival for us Sanatanis. We look forward to Janmashtami for months. The temple has been busy since morning, with kirtans already underway, and the entire city is eager to serve the Lord.”

Dilip Dubey, another devotee at the Varanasi ISKCON, noted the extensive preparations across the region for the festival, highlighting the excitement among the people.

In Punjab, a grand procession was held at the Shri Satyanarayan Temple in Kapurthala. The temple priest extended heartfelt greetings to everyone, stating, “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I wish everyone well as we celebrate the birth of Banke Bihari. This festival is celebrated with immense joy worldwide.”

Patna, the capital of Bihar, also saw a surge of devotees at its ISKCON temple from early morning. One visitor remarked on the excellent arrangements this year, noting, “The facilities are much better than in previous years. There might be a half-hour delay in darshan, but everything is well managed.”

In Mumbai, the ISKCON temple has made special preparations for Janmashtami, marking a significant milestone as the organization celebrates its 60th anniversary. The temple priest mentioned, “This Janmashtami is particularly special for ISKCON, and we have organized wonderful celebrations.”

The enthusiasm for Janmashtami continues to resonate throughout the country, uniting devotees in their shared devotion and joy.
