Muslim Leaders Urge Community to Avoid CJP Protest and Social Media Engagement

Bareilly/New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Ahead of the planned protest by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) on October 10 at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Muslim leaders have urged their community to stay away from the event. Prominent clerics, including Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi and Umar Ahmed Ilyasi, have called on Muslim youth and mosque imams to avoid participation and refrain from sharing related messages on social media.

Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, emphasized that while protesting is a fundamental right, it should not lead to violence. He expressed concerns about potential unrest, recalling previous instances where protests resulted in complications for the Muslim community. He advised young people to exercise caution and avoid any activities that could lead to trouble.

Umar Ahmed Ilyasi echoed these sentiments, specifically urging mosque leaders to counsel their congregations against joining the demonstration. He highlighted the current political climate and warned that certain factions might attempt to disrupt peace. Despite various political parties calling for participation in the October 10 protest, he stressed that the Muslim community should remain detached, as political interests often exploit community sentiments, ultimately causing harm to ordinary people.

Ilyasi warned that legal repercussions could arise for individuals involved in such protests, potentially affecting their families and complicating bail processes. He urged community members to act wisely and avoid impulsive decisions. He also recommended that both youths and children should not be sent to the protest.

In his address, he reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and harmony, urging the Muslim community to stay vigilant and avoid actions that could lead to distress for themselves or their families.
