New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leader HS Phulka expressed serious concerns regarding a protest that took place at the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara on October 10. He suggested that the incident was not spontaneous but rather part of a calculated conspiracy. Phulka claimed that if an investigation were conducted, it would reveal that the protesters had ties to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Phulka noted that individuals who have previously protested at locations like Jantar Mantar and Boat Club have often sought refuge and food at the gurdwara. However, this time, some protesters initiated their demonstration within the gurdwara complex itself.
He pointed out that videos circulating on social media show individuals holding banners and delivering speeches inside the gurdwara. Despite attempts by the gurdwara’s volunteers to intervene, the protests continued unabated.
The BJP leader alleged that this could be a deliberate strategy aimed at forcing police intervention, which would then be used to claim that law enforcement had entered the sacred space. Phulka called for a fair investigation into the matter.
He indicated that AAP activists might be involved in this incident but did not provide direct evidence to support his claims. He urged the gurdwara management committee to take appropriate action against any violations of the gurdwara’s sanctity. According to him, giving political speeches and displaying posters in such a religious setting contradicts its dignity.
Phulka mentioned that videos related to the incident are available and urged the police to identify those involved and conduct a thorough investigation. He recalled that during previous protests, such as the one related to the Citizenship Amendment Act, protesters had entered the gurdwara but did not engage in similar activities.
He concluded by demanding a comprehensive inquiry, asserting that if any political party or individual is found culpable, they should face appropriate consequences.
