Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Approves Major Recruitment Drive for 4,090 Para Workers

Shimla, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant move for employment in the state, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sukhu, convened on Saturday to approve extensive recruitment across various departments.

Among the key decisions was the hiring of 4,090 para workers in the Water Power Department, which will include para pump operators, para fitters, and multipurpose workers.

The Cabinet also decided to affiliate 100 additional schools with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). A new plan will be developed to facilitate this, aiming to fill 3,900 teaching positions and 900 non-teaching roles under the new scheme.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the organization of a Limited Direct Recruitment (LDR) examination for previously unappointed SMC teachers, including Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT).

In addition, the Cabinet has decided to fill computer teacher positions from among the outsourced teachers in government schools through the LDR process. The health department will also see the recruitment of 500 assistant staff nurses.

To address the backlog in the education sector, 320 assistant professor positions in the college cadre will be filled, along with 172 multi-task workers in the Public Works Department (PWD).

The Medical Education Department will recruit 30 radiologists, 13 clinical psychologists, and 6 perfusionists. Additionally, the Cabinet approved filling 27 positions across various categories reserved for persons with disabilities, along with 11 multi-task worker roles.

The Cabinet has also decided to fill 24 medical officer positions at Dr. RPGMC Tanda, 116 various posts in the Animal Husbandry Department, and 40 horticulture extension officer roles in the Horticulture Department. Moreover, 26 new positions will be created at the Durgasharny Kangra International Zoo.

Finally, the recruitment of 10 radiographers in ideal health institutions and 18 assistant treasury officers in the Treasury, Accounts, and Lottery Department was also approved.

These decisions are expected to create new job opportunities in the state while strengthening essential sectors such as education and health.
