Punjab BJP Promises Minimum Support Price for All Crops, Echoing Haryanas Model

Chandigarh, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The newly formed state team of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kisan Morcha held a meeting in Chandigarh on October 10, 2026, with state party president Keval Singh Dhillon. During the meeting, Dhillon announced the party’s commitment to ensuring a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops in Punjab, similar to the initiative by the Haryana government.

Dhillon urged the newly appointed officials to work with dedication and commitment towards the party’s goals. He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, stating that its poor policies have led Punjab into an economic crisis, while farmers’ concerns have been overlooked. “The prosperity of Punjab is only possible if our farmers thrive,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that the AAP had promised to implement MSP for all crops within five minutes of coming to power, yet failed to fulfill this commitment over the past four and a half years. Dhillon highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government has taken significant steps for farmers’ welfare.

He noted that the central government is providing MSP for wheat and rice to Punjab’s farmers and supporting them through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Additionally, he mentioned the subsidy on urea fertilizer, which allows farmers to purchase a bag worth ₹2,800 for just ₹266.

Dhillon further stated that if the BJP were to form the government in Punjab, it would implement MSP for all crops, including fruits and vegetables, as is done in Haryana. He asserted that this proposed policy would offer greater support to farmers and strengthen the state’s agricultural sector.

Encouraging the Kisan Morcha officials to enhance their outreach, Dhillon called for spreading awareness of the Modi government’s farmer-friendly policies and initiatives to every village and household. He stressed the importance of informing farmers about the schemes and measures aimed at their welfare.

During the meeting, the state team of the Kisan Morcha, led by President Lakhwinder Singh, honored Dhillon and assured him that the organization would work at all levels to strengthen the BJP.
