Hotel Association Raises GST Rate Concern

Office bearers of the Udaipur Hotel Association, including President Surendra Singh Karohi and Senior Vice President Rajesh Agrawal, presented a memorandum regarding the proposed changes in GST rates for September. They urged that the current GST rate of 12 percent on hotel services be reduced to 5 percent, arguing that such a reduction would boost tourism business nationwide and reduce the financial burden on tourists.

Citizens Demand Mobile Tower Removal and Better Facilities

Local residents demanded the removal of a mobile tower installed in the middle of a residential colony. Former councillor Girish Bharti called for UDA officials to provide basic amenities in approved areas such as Ratakhet and Harsh Nagar.

Representatives from the Vardhman Nagar Development Committee sought the removal of a newly installed mobile tower near Palodda House, Sector 12, Vardhman Nagar, which is located on agricultural land being used as a garden.

Multiple Rural Demands Raised

Women’s group minister Vijay Kumar Sharma demanded the approval of renovation proposals for the Kasturba Adivasi Girls Hostel under the Tribal Participation Scheme.

Villagers from Bawlawada Panchayat in Kherwada Tehsil requested repairs to the Sulai to Magra stretch of the Ratlam-Swarupganj National Highway 927A, which has been closed for a week due to heavy rains.

Panchayat Samiti member Surajmal Meena and Administrator Meera submitted a petition for approval of a sub-health center in Aad village, Popalti Gram Panchayat, noting that the village, with a population of around 1,800, lacks a sub-health center and that no such facility exists within a 10-kilometre radius.

A delegation of villagers demanded that the annual employment days under MGNREGA for laborers be increased from 100 to 200, citing the growing livelihood crisis in rural areas.

Sarpanch Sugna Devi from Falasia Panchayat Samiti and villagers requested housing and land allotment for the Kathodi tribal community in Gurad, Kada, and Wayawada villages, as lack of ownership rights prevents them from availing government schemes and complicates obtaining caste certificates, domicile, Aadhaar, and ration cards.
