Most Wanted Gangster Amritpal Singh Arrested at Moldova Border, Extradition Process Underway

Chandigarh, March 7: Notorious gangster Amritpal Singh, also known as Amrit Daalam, has been apprehended at the border of Moldova. He is considered one of the most wanted criminals linked to the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. This information was confirmed by the Punjab police.

The arrest was made based on an Interpol Red Notice, which was issued with the assistance of central agencies.

Amritpal Singh was wanted in several serious criminal cases in Punjab and had been hiding abroad for an extended period. After continuous international coordination and intensive efforts, Punjab police successfully located and captured him. Authorities have now initiated legal and diplomatic processes to bring him back to India to face justice for his crimes.

This arrest marks a significant step for Punjab police in tracking down fugitives hiding abroad. Currently, the Overseas Fugitive Tracking Cell (OFTCE) is monitoring 61 gangsters who are evading law enforcement in foreign countries. The capture of Amrit Daalam is a crucial success in these efforts.

Punjab police announced on their official social media account on X, stating, “The most wanted gangster has been detained at the Moldova border. Amritpal Singh, linked to the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, was apprehended based on an Interpol Red Notice issued in collaboration with central agencies at the request of Punjab police.”

They further added, “Amritpal Singh was wanted in several serious criminal cases in Punjab and had been on the run abroad for a long time. His detention came after persistent international coordination and follow-up by Punjab police agencies. Legal and diplomatic processes are now underway to secure his extradition/deportation to India so that he can face the law.”

Punjab police also mentioned, “The Overseas Fugitive Tracking Cell (OFTCE) is currently pursuing 61 fugitives hiding abroad. The detention of Amrit Daalam is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to track down criminals evading justice overseas. Punjab police is fully committed to ensuring that criminals, no matter where they hide, are brought back to face the law.”
