
New Delhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar chaired an important meeting of the advisory committee on India-Russia relations in New Delhi on October 3. The discussions centered on the growing cooperation between the two nations, particularly in light of ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict.
Jaishankar shared details of the advisory committee meeting on the social media platform ‘X.’ He noted that the meeting addressed various aspects of increasing collaboration between India and Russia, including trade, investment, energy, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people ties. There was also a strong emphasis on India’s continued support for dialogue and diplomacy to end the Ukraine crisis.
Just a day prior, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised India’s efforts regarding the Ukraine war during an event in Moscow. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi consistently raises the issue of resolving the Ukraine conflict in every meeting. Modi brings forth suggestions aimed at finding mutually acceptable solutions for both sides, demonstrating a desire for a peaceful and swift resolution.
According to a report by the Russian news agency TASS, during the 23rd session of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Putin acknowledged that India’s approach is impartial yet focused on ending the conflict. He expressed gratitude to Modi for his commitment to resolving the situation peacefully and as quickly as possible.
