Modi Thanks Serbian President Vucic, Emphasizes Stronger Friendship

New Delhi, June 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to France. On Sunday, he expressed gratitude to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic through a social media post. President Vucic congratulated PM Modi for becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.

Vucic took to the social media platform ‘X’ to write, “Heartfelt congratulations to Narendra Modi for being the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history.”

He praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating, “Staying in the highest office for such a long time is proof of the public’s trust in their leader. He has dedicated his life to serving the people and advancing the nation. A leader’s true strength is measured not just by the years spent in office or elections won, but by the legacy, achievements, and visionary thinking they leave behind.”

Vucic remarked, “I cherish our recent meeting, which was filled with mutual understanding and respect. During my conversation with PM Modi, I sensed the wisdom of an experienced politician and the mindset of a leader who understands the challenges of the modern world while valuing tradition, identity, and national interests.”

He added that the unique combination of experience, vision, and dedication to India makes PM Modi a leader whose voice is heard and respected worldwide.

“I wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi good health, continued success, and the strength to lead India on the path of progress and prosperity in the coming years,” Vucic stated.

In response, PM Modi said, “President Vucic, thank you for your heartfelt and warm wishes.” He wrote on ‘X’, “I fondly remember your recent visit to India and our meaningful discussions. India values its friendship with Serbia greatly and looks forward to working together to strengthen our ties in the future.”

Earlier, on June 10, PM Modi became India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, completing 12 years in office as the head of the central government. He surpassed the record of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, having served a total of 4,399 days as an elected Prime Minister, marking the longest tenure to date.
