Lucknow, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has voiced her concerns regarding the ongoing movements led by Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha activists. She criticized various political parties for allegedly hijacking these movements, which initially aimed to address the pressing issues faced by youth and the unemployed. According to her, this shift has transformed the movements from independent initiatives into politically driven agendas, raising serious doubts about the promises made to young people and students.
In a series of posts on the social media platform X, Mayawati emphasized that the BSP empathizes with the essential demands of Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha. She instructed the party’s state units to engage with local authorities to seek peaceful resolutions to the challenges confronting young people.
Mayawati highlighted that there are numerous instances across the country where it appears that political parties have taken control of movements originally focused on the urgent issues of youth and unemployment. She noted that the grand aspirations presented to the youth during the protests at Jantar Mantar now seem overshadowed by political motivations, leading to skepticism about the movements’ authenticity.
The BSP leader reaffirmed her party’s commitment to the demands of Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha, stating that the BSP has always shown genuine concern for their challenges. She assured that all state units would work collaboratively with relevant officials to find peaceful solutions to youth issues.
Furthermore, Mayawati reiterated that according to the BSP’s principles, party members will refrain from participating in protests or demonstrations. She urged her supporters to conserve their energy and resources for upcoming elections. The party’s goal, she stated, is to establish a government that fulfills the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, ensuring the welfare of all, including the youth.
Mayawati also raised questions about the police’s role during the protests, specifically referencing the serious incident involving activist Sanjay Azad. She demanded strict legal action against those responsible, warning that the BSP would not remain passive if such incidents continue.
