Tilak Nagar, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : A victim named Sahib Singh visited the Delhi Police headquarters on October 1 to demand the filing of an FIR against Minister Pravesh Verma. This follows an incident in Tilak Nagar where Singh alleges he was slapped by the minister. Singh expressed that the minister’s behavior warrants strict action.
In an interview, Singh stated he had come to meet with a Public Relations Officer but was unable to do so. He mentioned that he submitted his complaint through the postal service. Singh also wanted to speak with the Commissioner of Police but was denied that opportunity. Nonetheless, he was assured that his complaint would be addressed promptly.
Since the incident, Singh claims he has received ongoing threats. He has documented these threats and submitted screenshots as evidence, insisting that an FIR should be filed and that police action is necessary.
Additionally, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jarnail Singh has sent a defamation notice to Minister Verma. Singh noted that just four days prior, Verma claimed to have conducted a quality inspection of local roads, yet the minister lost his temper and slapped a young man when corruption allegations surfaced. Singh criticized Verma for not addressing the road quality issue since the incident, which has drawn national attention as citizens continue to expose the poor condition of the roads.
Singh accused Verma of attempting to tarnish his reputation by filing complaints against him with a contractor, alleging that Singh had solicited money. In response, Singh has issued a defamation notice, stating that if Verma does not respond or apologize within seven days, he will pursue legal action.
