Lucknow, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has launched a sharp critique against the Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress, and other opposition parties for their recent adoption of blue colors in their attire and campaigns. Speaking in Lucknow, she stated that merely donning blue garments and using blue themes on platforms will not alter these parties’ long-standing casteist, narrow-minded, feudal, and capitalist ideologies.
She emphasized that before claiming to advocate for the welfare of the Bahujan community, these parties must cleanse their hearts and minds. Mayawati also targeted the SP’s People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) and Congress’s political strategies. She expressed concerns over BSP leaders who were expelled from the party joining other factions and forming separate organizations, criticizing the opposition for this trend.
In a post on social media platform X, Mayawati stated that the SP, Congress, and other rival parties have historically utilized the BSP’s blue color in a way that does not reflect a genuine commitment to the welfare of marginalized groups such as the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, and backward classes. She asserted that these parties do not sincerely embody Ambedkarite values.
She further remarked that these parties frequently change their positions like chameleons, often saying one thing while doing the opposite. Particularly concerning the SP’s PDA, she accused them of being duplicitous and dishonest, citing numerous examples known to the public. Mayawati reiterated that the BSP is the only party genuinely committed to the interests of these communities.
Highlighting the issue of party discipline, she pointed out that individuals expelled from the BSP often switch to other parties for opportunistic reasons, suggesting that this behavior indicates their self-serving nature. She cautioned that such factions cannot contribute to the collective welfare of the Bahujan society.
Mayawati also remarked that parties like Congress, which are now seeking to recruit expelled BSP members, are akin to sinking ships, questioning why anyone would want to join them. She recalled that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar warned the Bahujan community to stay away from such parties during his lifetime.
In closing, she mentioned that when the BSP advised Ashok Siddharth to retire from politics, he initially resisted the decision due to external pressures. However, he ultimately announced his retirement, fearing further consequences if he delayed. Mayawati hinted that more revelations regarding this situation would be shared with party members at an appropriate time.
