Mauritius Prime Minister Discusses Cooperation with India

New Delhi, February 10: Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam, spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. The two leaders discussed several important issues. Prime Minister Modi shared this information on social media.

He expressed his happiness at receiving a call from his friend, Prime Minister Dr. Ramgoolam. They reviewed the progress made in the extensive cooperation between India and Mauritius since their memorable meeting in Varanasi last year. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the special, historical, and people-centered ties that connect their nations.

Modi stated that India and Mauritius will continue to work together to achieve shared goals of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean region. He expressed eagerness to welcome Prime Minister Ramgoolam to India next week for the AI Impact Summit. It is anticipated that the Prime Minister of Mauritius will participate in this summit scheduled to take place in Delhi this month.

The India AI Impact Summit has already seen over 35,000 registrations for 2026. More than 500 startups from over 100 countries will participate in 500 sessions. This information was provided by the Ministry of Electronics and IT on Monday.

According to the ministry’s statement, the India AI Impact Summit, set for February 16-20, 2026, is expected to be the largest of the four global AI summits held to date. It reflects the growing international momentum around responsible, inclusive, and impact-driven artificial intelligence.

The statement further noted that the summit has attracted unprecedented interest, with over 35,000 registrations from countries worldwide. It will prioritize implementing the vision, focusing on tangible outcomes at the grassroots level.

Governments, industry leaders, researchers, civil society organizations, and international institutions will actively participate in shaping the summit’s agenda. Participation is expected from over 100 countries, including 15 to 20 heads of state, more than 50 ministers from various nations, and over 40 CEOs from global and Indian companies. Approximately 500 key figures from the global AI ecosystem, including innovators, researchers, and chief technology officers, are also expected to attend.
