Mumbai, June 13: Maharashtra police achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting the mastermind of an international cyber fraud syndicate at Mumbai Airport. The arrested individual, Saurabh, also known as Ganesh Kale, had been orchestrating cyber crimes from abroad for an extended period.
Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaube reported that Saurabh was involved in serious cyber offenses, including online task fraud, stock market fraud, and digital arrests. He managed the entire network from Dubai before fleeing to Thailand.
This case emerged during the investigation of three separate FIRs registered at Dehu Road, Hinjawadi, and the Cyber Police Station. So far, 13 associates linked to this gang have already been apprehended. During interrogation, it was revealed that the mastermind was controlling the entire network from abroad while directing agents based in India.
The investigation also uncovered that another arrested suspect, Deepak Gadhe, had traveled to Dubai, where he met Ganesh Kale. This meeting accelerated the operations of the syndicate, with many individuals directly and indirectly connected to the network.
To dismantle this international network, police issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) and a Lookout Circular. Coordination was established with UAE and other international agencies. The accused was detained in Thailand, and the process to bring him back to India commenced. After a lengthy legal process and international cooperation, he was extradited to India. Upon his arrival at Mumbai Airport, police promptly arrested him.
Authorities stated that this operation is the result of nearly a year and a half of diligent work. Senior officials from the Cyber Police Station and the investigation team consistently contributed to this effort. Additionally, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center provided crucial support.
Officials indicated that following the arrest, further interrogation will be conducted to gather information about the entire network, foreign contacts, and active collaborators in India.
