New Delhi, July 28: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has expressed his views on the newly proposed ‘Anti-Paper Leak‘ bill. In a recent discussion, Raut stated that the bill is currently under consideration. He noted that while the government believes this legislation will help prevent paper leaks, he questions what is truly new about it.
Raut highlighted that the bill largely resembles the previous version. The punishment for violations has increased from one year to ten years in prison. Additionally, the fine has been raised from 1 crore to 10 crores.
He further alleged that individuals associated with the BJP control the ongoing paper leak rackets across the country. “All those arrested in the NEET paper leak case in Maharashtra are BJP workers,” he claimed. Raut accused those who are alleged to have looted the country of being ‘cleansed’ and welcomed back into the party, while the treatment of students is markedly different.
Raut also criticized the government’s scrutiny of individuals providing assistance during protests. “Now you are even investigating who is serving food and distributing water at Jantar Mantar. What is this government doing? People who want to help during protests come forward. Some provide water, others offer food or medicines, and now you have begun to investigate them too,” he said.
He concluded by calling for an end to the welcome extended to Dharmendra Pradhan, who had to resign over the NEET paper leak issue.
