New Delhi, June 28: Congress MP Manoj Kumar has demanded a high-level investigation led by the Supreme Court into the alleged misappropriation of funds for the Ram Temple.
In New Delhi, Kumar emphasized that this issue transcends individual concerns; it touches the faith and devotion of millions. He stated that the theft at the Ram Temple has tarnished India’s reputation globally. With approximately 80 to 81 percent of the population being Hindus who hold deep reverence for Lord Ram, the incident raises critical questions about the oversight of those managing donations and funds.
Kumar posed essential questions regarding the individuals responsible for safeguarding the donations. He inquired about Prime Minister Modi‘s plans to visit Ayodhya and acknowledge the situation. He highlighted that many devotees contributed significant amounts, including cash, gold, and silver, as offerings. He expressed that if these funds had been utilized for educational or social initiatives, it would have been beneficial. However, he alleged that a few individuals are misappropriating these funds, even claiming that some have built hotels. Whether this is fake news or reality, it warrants thorough investigation. Therefore, he urged PM Modi, Amit Shah, and the Supreme Court to form a team to conduct a high-level inquiry into the Ram Temple fund scandal.
Regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks about temple construction in Amritsar, Kumar noted that while it is commendable, Kejriwal should not forget the people of Delhi. Even after losing power, he should focus on building temples in the capital.
On the cancellation of the Maharashtra TET exam, Kumar referenced Rahul Gandhi’s prediction that the current government would not last a year. He asserted that the public is the ultimate authority and will remove them. He pointed out that after NEET, there have been more paper leaks, and there should be investigations into the ongoing examination scandals. He criticized the tendency to arrest lower-level individuals while the influential escape accountability.
Concerning the Bharat Tiwari case in Bihar, Kumar insisted that action must be taken against the guilty parties. He remarked that the police, originally meant to protect, have become oppressors, with daily encounters occurring in Bihar. He called for the Prime Minister to introduce effective police reform legislation during the monsoon session, reminding that the Constitution places the public above all.
Meanwhile, following the cancellation of the TET exam, the Mumbai Youth Congress staged a vigorous protest outside the education minister’s residence. Activists voiced their dissent, with teacher Reshma demanding a strict investigation into the matter. Another protester highlighted the hard work candidates put into their preparation, asserting that those responsible for the exam leak should face severe consequences.
