
Shahdol, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic incident occurred in Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh, where a 73-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained from a bear attack. The attack took place in the Keshwahi forest area on Friday, leading to widespread mourning in the community.
Following the incident, the forest department initiated a post-mortem examination and began necessary departmental actions. The family of the deceased has also been provided with immediate financial assistance.
Reports indicate that some shepherds from Kundali village ventured into the forest with their livestock when they encountered a bear. The bear attacked Chakradhari Sahu, the elderly shepherd, causing severe injuries. He was rushed to the Medical College in Shahdol for treatment, but unfortunately, he passed away during his care.
Santosh Shukla, Sub-Divisional Officer of the South Forest Division in Shahdol, confirmed the details of the incident. He stated that Chakradhari Sahu was critically injured and did not survive despite medical efforts.
The forest department is currently conducting necessary actions related to the case, and the final rites for the deceased were performed following the completion of the post-mortem.
