Mamata Banerjee Alleges Conspiracy Against TMC Poll Agents Ahead of Elections

Kolkata, April 14: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concerns on Tuesday that the police might arrest Trinamool Congress (TMC) booth agents at the last minute, following directives from the Election Commission. This move could enable elections to be conducted without their presence at polling stations.

While addressing an election rally in Pingla, West Midnapore district, CM Mamata stated, “The order to arrest TMC booth agents is intended to prevent them from being present at polling stations. Therefore, you should have alternatives ready. If one booth agent is arrested, another person should take their place. If necessary, female family members may need to step in as booth agents.”

She assured voters that she would make every effort to reinstate names removed from the voter list. “I have gone to the Supreme Court for you. I have fought on the ground for your rights. I will ensure that removed names are reinstated at any cost. If I cannot achieve this now, I will certainly do so in the coming days,” she added.

The Chief Minister accused the Election Commission of harassing the public under the guise of a ‘special intensive review,’ claiming that this process has already resulted in the deaths of 250 individuals in West Bengal. “You must take revenge through your ballots. Your vote for the Trinamool Congress will be that revenge,” she urged.

Targeting the BJP, she remarked that she had never witnessed such dirty political tactics in her long career. “I have been in politics for a long time, including serving as a central minister. However, I have never seen such a dirty political game as the one being played by the BJP,” CM Mamata stated.

Despite the BJP’s tactics, she expressed confidence that they would not succeed in their goal of capturing West Bengal this time. “We will play our game to oust the BJP,” she concluded.
