Major League Baseball to Host 3×3 Format in Mumbai

Mumbai, August 6: Major League Baseball (MLB), the organization behind America’s favorite pastime, is set to introduce a new and fast-paced format of baseball in India. On October 24, MLB will host a 3×3 baseball competition in Mumbai. This T20-style version aims to boost the popularity of baseball in the country.

MLB announced on Thursday that it will hold its dynamic 3-on-3 baseball competition, MLBX, at the Mumbai Football Arena. The event will feature baseball competitions, interactive experiences for fans, and entertainment, providing Indian audiences with a fresh way to engage with one of the world’s most historic sports leagues.

MLBX is a thrilling, mixed 3-on-3 baseball competition that combines power hitting, athletic defensive plays, and fast-paced gameplay.

After being held during the MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia, this competition is making its debut in Mumbai. Over the past three years, it has also taken place in 15 venues across the U.S., as well as in cities like London, Seoul, and Mexico City.

The Mumbai event will feature India’s T20 World Cup-winning captain and MLB ambassador Suryakumar Yadav, along with former MLB All-Stars Nick Swisher and Adrian Gonzalez. Additional participants will be announced in the coming weeks.
