Major Drug Bust in Madhya Pradesh: CBN Uncovers Secret Meth Lab

Mumbai, May 9: In a significant operation against narcotics, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) has uncovered a secret meth lab in the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. Acting on reliable intelligence, CBN officials raided an illegal synthetic drugs manufacturing unit located on the outskirts of the Lasudiya area in Daloda tehsil on May 8, 2026, seizing a substantial quantity of drugs and chemicals.

The CBN received specific and credible information indicating that an illegal laboratory was operating in a room on agricultural land. Based on this tip-off, a joint team from the CBN’s Chittorgarh Division was dispatched to the site.

After thorough surveillance, mapping of the land, and identification of the target location, the team confirmed the operation of the clandestine lab. Given the area’s sensitivity and its notorious history of law and order issues, additional operational support was sought from the CBN’s Madhya Pradesh unit. The CBN’s Preventive Cell team arrived shortly thereafter, leading to a coordinated operation.

The team conducted an extensive search of the room and surrounding area, revealing a hidden setup for meth production. During the operation, the lab was dismantled, and a large quantity of illegal materials was confiscated.

The seized items included 21.189 kilograms of meth, 0.487 kilograms of opium, 30.800 liters of various chemicals including HCL, and 10 bags of lab equipment and drug manufacturing materials. According to officials, these tools and chemicals were being used to produce illegal synthetic drugs.

Two individuals involved in this illegal operation were apprehended at the scene. Subsequently, both suspects were arrested under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

CBN officials stated that the seizure of such a large quantity of synthetic narcotics and the busting of the secret lab marks a significant success against the organized narcotics network active in the region. Investigations are ongoing into the syndicate’s backward and forward links, sources of precursor chemicals, financial trails, and potential interstate connections.

The Central Narcotics Bureau reiterated its commitment to continue stringent actions against drug trafficking, emphasizing that such operations are crucial for protecting society, especially the youth, from the dire problem of substance abuse and strengthening the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ campaign.

The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Naresh Bundel, Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Kota (Rajasthan).

The CBN has appealed to the public to share any information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse by contacting the control room at 0744-2438928 or via WhatsApp at 8764748232. The identity of informants will be kept completely confidential.
