Raipur, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Chhattisgarh’s Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) has successfully executed a significant operation against illegal ganja trafficking. The Singhodar police received directives to conduct a thorough investigation into both the source and destination of the drug trade.
As part of the ongoing operation, police have been conducting regular checks in the district. During one such check, they received a tip-off about individuals transporting ganja in a container vehicle from Odisha to Chhattisgarh. Acting on this information, officers halted a container on NH 53 at Rehtikhola, where two suspects were found inside.
Upon questioning, the driver identified himself as Wasim Shah, 38, from Amirapura, Gujarat, while the passenger was Ayub Khan, 56, from Borsad, Gujarat. During further interrogation, both admitted to carrying illegal ganja in the vehicle. They revealed that the drug was intended for transport from Sambalpur to Gujarat.
A search of the container uncovered four plastic bags containing a total of 120.060 kilograms of ganja, valued at approximately 60,030,000 rupees. Additionally, police seized two mobile phones worth 5,500 rupees and the container vehicle, valued at 1,000,000 rupees, bringing the total value of confiscated assets to over 70 lakh rupees.
The suspects have been charged and arrested, with police continuing their investigation into the matter.
