Uttarkashi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : In a shocking case from Uttarkashi, police have arrested a father accused of raping and molesting his minor daughter. Following the arrest, he was presented in court and subsequently sent to jail.
The incident, which has brought to light the disturbing nature of familial abuse, was reported to the police by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Dharasu police apprehended the suspect.
According to reports, the CWC filed a complaint on September 1, alleging that the father was committing heinous acts against his daughter. The police registered a case under Section 64(2) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 5/6 of the POCSO Act, responding with urgency due to the sensitive nature of the allegations.
In light of the seriousness of the case, the Superintendent of Police for Uttarkashi instructed officers to ensure the prompt arrest of the accused. Following these directives, the Dharasu police arrested him on September 11. He was then taken to court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.
Authorities have stated that crimes against children will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict legal action will be pursued in such cases. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the societal issues surrounding abuse within familial relationships.
