
Itanagar, May 28: The Arunachal Pradesh police have achieved a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking. This information was shared by the state police on their social media platform X.
During a special raid conducted by the Tissa police station team in Longding district, authorities seized a substantial amount of narcotics and cash. According to police reports, approximately 52 grams of suspected heroin, 460 grams of opium, and ₹5.93 lakh in cash were confiscated. This operation is part of a broader campaign aimed at curbing illegal drug trade in the region.
In the course of this raid, five individuals were arrested. Preliminary investigations suggest that all suspects may be involved in the buying, selling, and distribution of narcotics. However, police officials have stated that the investigation into the entire network is ongoing, and efforts are being made to determine the scale of the trafficking operation and identify other individuals involved.
According to police officials, the seized narcotics will be sent to a forensic lab for analysis to confirm their nature and quality. Additionally, the source of the confiscated cash is also under investigation.
Local authorities have hailed this operation as a significant success, expressing hope that it will help combat drug trafficking in the area. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the administration promptly, enabling timely action to protect the community from the dangers of drugs.
