Trump Announces Plans for Military Bases in Greenland

Washington, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the United States will establish two major military bases in Greenland. This agreement aims to secure permanent U.S. control over the strategically vital Arctic island.

During his address at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump detailed the expansion of American military presence. He described the deal with Denmark and Greenland as unprecedented, stating it would grant the U.S. broader authority to defend North America and Europe.

Trump emphasized that this agreement would provide the U.S. with lasting control over the security needs of the region and the local population. He asserted that the U.S. has the capability to take all necessary steps to protect the American continent, Europe, and other locations.

The President noted that countries deemed adversaries by Washington would be prevented from establishing military presences in Greenland. Additionally, they would be barred from making sensitive investments without U.S. written consent.

He stated that Washington would begin significantly increasing its military presence in Greenland at appropriate sites, with plans to start the process immediately. The construction of two large military bases is set to begin soon.

Later that day, the agreement was expected to be signed. Trump expressed enthusiasm for developing close ties with the people and governments of Denmark and Greenland.
