Beijing, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Chinese Vice Premier Ting Shuexiang met with representatives from youth flag-bearing teams of Hong Kong and Macau on September 21 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During this gathering, Ting conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to all members of the delegation and extended a heartfelt welcome on behalf of the central government.
Ting emphasized that President Xi has consistently focused on the development of youth in Hong Kong and Macau. He noted that the prosperity of these regions is closely tied to the growth of their young people, which in turn contributes to the overall development of the nation.
He remarked that Hong Kong and Macau are experiencing a remarkable phase of development in their history. Ting expressed hope that students would come to understand the significance of the national flag and foster a deep sense of attachment to their homeland. He encouraged them to protect the national flag and strive to become role models of patriotism and love for the country in this new era.
The event saw participation from approximately 1,200 representatives from flag-bearing teams across universities, secondary schools, and primary schools in Hong Kong and Macau.
