
Lucknow, June 25: Following a tragic fire incident in Aliganj, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has launched a significant campaign against establishments operating in violation of safety standards. On Wednesday, authorities sealed 71 establishments and issued notices to 83 property owners and managers. The crackdown targeted a variety of facilities, including coaching centers, libraries, dance studios, playgroup schools, blood banks, computer institutes, nursing homes, hotels, and commercial complexes.
Under the direction of LDA Vice Chairman Prithmesh Kumar, the enforcement department collaborated with the fire department and Lucknow police for this operation. Kumar stated that this initiative will continue for three weeks to ensure compliance with safety standards across the city.
On Tuesday evening, Kumar held a review meeting with all zonal officers, where he instructed them to inspect coaching centers, libraries, hotels, nursing homes, and other commercial establishments. In response, the enforcement department conducted a comprehensive operation across all seven zones on Wednesday.
In Enforcement Zone-7, led by Joint Secretary Sushil Pratap Singh, 14 establishments were sealed, and notices were issued to 20 others. In Enforcement Zone-1, under Zonal Officer Devansh Trivedi, inspections were carried out in the Viraj Khand, Vineet Khand, and Vivek Khand areas of Gomti Nagar. During this operation, nine coaching centers, including Allen Coaching, Aakash Institute, Unacademy, and Career Point, were sealed.
In Enforcement Zone-2, Zonal Officer Ravi Nandan Singh’s team inspected the Kanpur Road Scheme and Krishna Nagar area, sealing 16 coaching centers, including Physics Wala and Mahindra Coaching, and issuing notices to 16 property owners.
Enforcement Zone-6, led by Zonal Officer Prabhakar Singh, conducted actions in the Hazratganj area, sealing 14 establishments, including Allen Coaching and Aakash Institute, and issuing notices to 20 property owners.
In Enforcement Zone-5, five buildings were sealed, and notices were issued to 21 property owners during inspections. Enforcement Zone-3, under Zonal Officer Atul Krishna Singh, targeted Krishna Nagar, Vijay Nagar, and Manak Nagar, sealing seven establishments, including Bright Future Library and Hotel Gurveer, which were found to be operating in violation of standards.
Similarly, in Enforcement Zone-4, actions led by SDM Vipin Kumar Shivhare resulted in six establishments being sealed and notices issued to seven property owners.
LDA Vice Chairman Prithmesh Kumar emphasized that the campaign will continue to ensure citizen safety and compliance with building standards. He made it clear that strict actions will be taken against institutions found violating fire safety, construction, and other essential standards.
He stated that all commercial establishments operating in the city must adhere to the prescribed rules and safety standards; otherwise, they will face sealing and legal actions.
