Bareilly, August 28: The festival of Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the unbreakable bond between brothers and sisters, will be celebrated across the country on Friday with great enthusiasm. In Uttar Pradesh, the police are on high alert to ensure the safety of women and facilitate smooth traffic flow.
During a conversation with a news agency on Thursday, Bareilly Traffic SP Akmal Khan shared details about the preparations. He noted that many women and their families will be on the roads for the festival, leading to significant movement of people from one place to another. Many women will also travel between districts using buses.
To ensure the safety and convenience of women, extensive traffic management plans have been implemented. A diversion plan for heavy vehicles has been established to prevent any unpleasant incidents. Khan mentioned that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city from key points such as Jumka, Bilwa, Dhama Bilwa, Lalpur Village Cut, Invertis Tiraaha, and Bukhara Mor.
Additionally, within the city, around 32 locations have been designated for one-way traffic or similar arrangements to avoid any traffic issues for the public. The Bareilly police are on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
