Mumbai, June 18: Amid ongoing discussions regarding ‘Operation Tiger’ in Maharashtra, state government minister Sanjay Shirsat has made a significant claim. He stated that six MPs from the Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, have formed a separate faction and have officially informed Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in writing.
In a conversation with reporters, Sanjay Shirsat mentioned that the process of forming this separate group is well underway. He indicated that once all formalities are completed, the MPs will decide which political party they wish to join.
The Maharashtra minister said, “The MPs have created a separate group and have notified the Lok Sabha Speaker about it. Once the process is finalized, they will determine which party to join. If they wish to join the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, the final decision will rest with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. We will accept whatever decision he makes.”
He further emphasized that the matter is largely in the hands of these MPs.
Meanwhile, amid speculation of a potential split within Shiv Sena (UBT), senior party leaders Sanjay Raut and Lok Sabha MP Arvind Sawant held a joint press conference to send a stern message to potential rebels. Both leaders referenced the legacy of party founder Balasaheb Thackeray, asserting that the party will not tolerate any form of betrayal and will fight politically and legally against those attempting to divide it.
This press conference was held just before an important meeting of the Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary group at their office in New Delhi.
These developments in Maharashtra’s political landscape have sparked new discussions, and all eyes are now on the next steps of the Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs.
