Maharashtra Extends Deadline for E-Peak Inspection to March 31, 2026

Mumbai, March 17: Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, announced in the Assembly on Tuesday that the deadline for the ‘E-Peak Inspection’ (electronic crop inspection) for the 2025-26 rabi season has been extended to March 31, 2026.

He noted that registration for E-Peak Inspection at the assistant level began on January 25, 2026, but only 55.69% of registrations for rabi crops have been completed so far. Approximately 45% of farmers are still outside this process.

Bawankule emphasized that the government has extended the deadline to ensure full registration, as E-Peak Inspection is mandatory to avail benefits from government schemes, including crop insurance.

He informed the house that instructions have been given to the administration to expedite the registration of data in the ‘AgriStack’ through better coordination between the settlement commissioner and the agriculture commissioner.

He stressed the importance of ensuring accurate and timely verification of crop inspections.

Meanwhile, Cooperation State Minister Pankaj Bhoyar stated that the state government is positive about prioritizing women’s cooperative societies for labor cooperative projects.

He explained that various agencies across Maharashtra assign projects to labor contract cooperatives, which include works valued at less than ₹10 lakh, projects obtained through e-tendering, and works allocated by district council officials.

During a meeting held at the ministry, he mentioned that while many government agencies allocate projects to labor cooperatives through e-tendering, the cooperation department currently lacks a centralized system to track this information.

Dr. Bhoyar directed that data on works allocated through e-tenders and district councils should be compiled at the district sub-registrar level.

He instructed officials to develop an online registration portal and suggested a system where project payments will not be processed until the respective department records the work on this portal.

According to the minister, a committee will be formed to oversee the projects allocated to labor cooperatives by various departments.

This committee has been tasked with presenting a report as soon as possible regarding prioritizing women’s cooperative societies for these labor projects.

Further actions will be taken based on its recommendations.
