Bhopal, April 27: The Madhya Pradesh education department has announced re-examinations for students of Class 5 and Class 8 who either failed or were absent during the main examinations of the 2025-26 academic session. These re-examinations will take place from June 1 to June 6. All students enrolled in government, recognized private, and grant-aided schools, as well as registered madrasas, will be eligible to participate.
Students wishing to take the re-examinations can download their admit cards through the state education center’s examination portal. School heads, block education officers, and district project coordinators will have the facility to download admit cards for students from the examination portal. All block resource centers (B.R.C.C.) have been instructed to ensure that every student in their block receives their admit card through the respective school principal by May 25.
Harjinder Singh, the director of the state education center, stated that the guidelines specify that additional subject-wise teaching must be arranged at the school level before the re-examinations. In cases where students did not complete project work or scored less than seven marks, schools are required to ensure that these projects are completed and assessed at the school level. The scores will then be entered into the examination portal.
Examination centers for the re-examinations will be established only at the block education center level. If more than 500 students are registered at a center in any district, a second examination center may be designated with prior approval from the state education center. The mapping of schools to examination centers must be completed by the B.R.C.C. by May 15.
Question papers for the re-examinations will be printed on-site at the designated examination centers. District project coordinators will be responsible for downloading and printing question papers from the examination portal. The director of the state education center has instructed that each examination center must have at least two computers or laptops, two functional printers, internet access, sufficient A4-sized paper, toner, and reliable electricity supply.
The responsibility for ensuring student attendance and transportation to the examination center lies with the respective school heads and teachers. The state education center will ensure the availability of drinking water at each examination center and will provide oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to protect students from heat and dehydration. Additionally, arrangements will be made to transport students to the nearest health center or hospital in case of health emergencies.
