Lucknow, June 29: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, announced on Monday that the second phase of the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ will commence on July 1. He urged students and parents to transform this initiative into a mass movement. The future of Uttar Pradesh will be bright only when every child is educated.
In his message to the people of the state, Chief Minister Adityanath stated, “July marks not just the beginning of a new month, but also a renewed commitment to fulfilling the dreams of millions of children by bringing them to school. The second phase of ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ will run from July 1 to July 15. The aim of this campaign is to ensure 100% enrollment from classes 1 to 12, reconnect drop-out children with schools, and facilitate admissions for the new academic session.”
He emphasized, “When discussing the most valuable asset in life, education is paramount. Knowledge empowers children to reach great heights. Schools are sacred places where students begin their journey of knowledge, values, and character development. This is also our ancient tradition. In the past, students in Gurukuls learned under the guidance of their teachers, mastering subjects like Vedas, sciences, and life values. Today’s schools are the modern embodiment of that Gurukul tradition, fostering both theoretical and practical knowledge along with discipline and a sense of nation-building.”
The Chief Minister noted that when a child first steps into school, the entire family, village, and community progress together. The education and future of every daughter and son, as well as the advancement of every family, hinge on schools. Our government initiated ‘Project Alankaar’ with this vision, modernizing secondary schools across the state and ensuring a quality educational environment alongside infrastructure improvements.
To illuminate the entire state with the light of education, the government is running various initiatives like ‘Operation Kayakalp’, ‘Mission Prerna’, ‘Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Scheme’, and ‘Mission Nipun’, aimed at enhancing the quality of education at all levels. A healthy mind requires a healthy body; therefore, schools will provide diverse, nutritious meals.
Chief Minister Yogi appealed to teachers, saying, “Dear educators, I want to share a few thoughts with you. Ensure that children do not view school merely as a daily routine but develop an interest in attending. Activities like sports can serve as excellent mediums for this.”
Meanwhile, he requested parents to evaluate their children not by their grades but by their enthusiasm and dedication. It is essential for parents to ensure their regular attendance at school. Children aged 3 to 6 can be sent to ‘Bal Vatika’.
In closing, the Chief Minister called upon the people of Uttar Pradesh to not let the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ remain a government program but to make it a people’s movement. If there is a child in our vicinity who has not yet reached school, it is our duty to ensure they do. He reiterated that the future of Uttar Pradesh will only be bright when every child is educated.
