Noida, July 1: Schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) have reopened today, marking the start of a new academic session filled with renewed energy. Following a summer break of about one and a half months, regular classes commenced in most schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Uttar Pradesh Board.
From early morning, children filled the school campuses across Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. The joy of reuniting with friends and teachers was evident on the children’s faces, while parents expressed excitement about the new session. Special activities were organized in schools on the first day of the academic year.
New students were introduced to help them feel comfortable with their peers and teachers. Educators briefed students on the new curriculum, annual academic activities, examination systems, discipline, and school rules. Many schools held welcome programs to celebrate the children and motivate them for the upcoming session.
However, confusion arose regarding school timings in Gautam Buddha Nagar on the first day of reopening. Due to the ongoing extreme heat and humidity, the Basic Education Officer (BSA) had issued an order to set school hours from 7 AM to 12 PM. This directive aimed to provide relief from the heat and ensure the children’s health. Despite this, several private schools did not adhere to the BSA’s instructions and operated according to their previously established schedules.
As a result, parents experienced confusion regarding the varying school timings. Some raised concerns that if all schools do not follow a uniform schedule despite administrative orders, the purpose of the directive would not be fulfilled. Nonetheless, with the start of the new session, students are displaying renewed enthusiasm for their studies. Regular teaching activities, along with extracurricular programs, are expected to commence in the coming days.
