Mohan Bhagwat Addresses Unity Celebration in London, Highlights Hindu Values

London, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), spoke at the “Celebration of Unity” event held in London on September 6. He emphasized that a Hindu is not merely an individual but is deeply connected to family, community, society, and all of humanity. Bhagwat stated that Hindus do not just worship nature; they also love it, and this love forms the foundation of unity, character building, and the organization’s operations.

He articulated that Hindu philosophy is rooted in the belief that “existence is one, even if it appears in diverse forms.” According to him, embracing and respecting diversity is at the core of Hindu ideology.

If he had to encapsulate the RSS’s principles in a single concept, it would be “belongingness.” He described this as pure and virtuous love for all, which is inherent to Hindu nature. Bhagwat urged that diversity should be seen as the various adornments of the unity of existence.

Expressing confidence in future generations, Bhagwat remarked that he has great faith in the youth, who possess a desire to improve the world. He encouraged giving them goals without dictating methods, believing they will swiftly achieve universal morality and prosperity.

Responding to inquiries about the loyalty of Hindus in Britain, he stated there is no conflict. He clarified that if such a situation were to arise, British Hindus would remain loyal to Britain. He explained that the karmabhoomi (place of action) is where an individual’s loyalty lies, while the janmabhoomi (birthplace) and punyabhoomi (sacred land) provide cultural values. The essence of Hindutva is to apply these values in service to one’s karmabhoomi.

In discussing the activities of the RSS, Bhagwat noted that volunteers are engaged in nearly every aspect of human life, making it challenging to summarize their work in just a few words. He mentioned that even those who oppose them politically acknowledge the contributions and qualities of the volunteers and often seek dialogue and support on important issues. This, he asserted, reflects the broad acceptance of the RSS’s efforts within society.
