Empowering Youth: Industry Association Conference Set for July 3 in New Delhi

New Delhi, July 2: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India will host an Industry Association Conference on July 3 at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar International Centre (Ambedkar Bhawan). Senior government officials, business leaders, corporate entities, and development partners will collaborate to formulate a cooperative action plan aimed at empowering India’s youth through the ‘My India’ ecosystem.

The conclave will feature Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, and Nikhil Khandse, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports. Additionally, key officials such as Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of the Youth Affairs Department, Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, and Shiv Ratan, Joint Secretary, will participate. Dr. Priyanka Shukla, CEO of ‘My India’, along with representatives from major industry organizations and corporate entities, will also be present.

According to the ministry, the objective of this conclave is to foster strong and long-term partnerships between the government, industry organizations, corporate companies, and public sector enterprises. This collaboration aims to promote skill development, employment, volunteering, and entrepreneurship among youth. Discussions will focus on how to effectively deliver internships, skill development, volunteering, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, and other development initiatives to youth through the ‘My India’ platform.

Representatives from prominent industry organizations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), FICCI, ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, PHD Chamber of Commerce, CREDAI, Indian Banks Association, India SME Forum, CAT, and SCOPE will participate in the conference. Major social organizations like SBI Foundation, Reliance Foundation, Paytm Foundation, HCL Foundation, Bisleri Foundation, and Pratham will also be involved.

During the event, information about the functioning and objectives of ‘My India’ will be shared. Various industry organizations will present their views on ongoing and proposed initiatives for youth. The conference will delve into ways to enhance collaboration in CSR activities, internships, skill development, and volunteering programs. An open discussion will be held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Youth Affairs Department, where stakeholders will outline a roadmap for future partnerships.

The ministry believes that this initiative will help connect major industry organizations and their member institutions with the ‘My India’ platform. Additionally, it aims to establish better coordination in CSR programs related to youth and take significant steps toward making ‘My India’ a national platform for opportunities and collaboration for youth across the country. The day-long conference will conclude with a framework for long-term cooperation between the government and industry, keeping in mind the goal of ‘Developed India @ 2047’.
