Krishna Hegde Questions Open Letter to PM, Suggests It Should Be Sent to Pakistan Army Chief

Mumbai, July 2: Krishna Hegde, spokesperson for the Shiv Sena, has raised questions regarding an open letter addressed to the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan. He expressed his support for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statements while commenting on various political and social issues.

Hegde defended Bhagwat’s remarks, stating that those who migrated to India post-partition are patriots who endured significant hardships. He highlighted notable figures such as Raj Kapoor and Sunil Dutt, who built their lives in India after leaving Pakistan, affirming their patriotism and the struggles their families faced.

Regarding the National Conference’s upcoming protests in Delhi, Hegde remarked that it makes no difference whether they protest in Delhi or Pakistan. He emphasized that the central government is strong, Article 370 has been revoked, and people are content with the growing business opportunities and employment in the region. He accused the National Conference and PDP of exploiting the public and stated that their tactics are beyond the understanding of the people.

Over 100 individuals from India and Pakistan have signed an open letter to their respective Prime Ministers. Hegde suggested that this letter should be directed to the Pakistan Army Chief instead. He argued that until terrorism is eradicated and cross-border terrorism is halted, dialogue holds no value.

He questioned the motives of those who wrote the letter, implying they may be pro-Pakistan and are seeking attention rather than advocating for the public’s interests. “They appear to be agents of Pakistan,” he stated.

Hegde also launched a sharp critique against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who claimed he did not know the name of BJP state president and MLC N. Ramchandra Rao. Hegde remarked that if a Chief Minister is unaware of their state’s MLC, it reflects poorly on their leadership. He noted that N. Ramchandra Rao is a senior lawyer who has taken charge from G. Kishan Reddy, and suggested that the Chief Minister’s arrogance may have led him to disconnect from the people.

He advised Rao to remember that he is a newly appointed Chief Minister and that he should work collaboratively, setting aside his pride.
