Launch of E-Sushrut Clinic for Small Clinics at Just ₹299

New Delhi, June 29: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched the ‘E-Sushrut Clinic’, a hospital management system designed for small clinics, on Monday. Developed by C-DAC, this digital platform aims to promote the digitization of healthcare services in small clinics, providing them with affordable and user-friendly solutions supported by the government.

According to the Health Ministry, most small outpatient clinics in the country still rely on manual systems. Due to the high costs and complexity of large hospital management systems, small clinics often find them unmanageable. The ‘E-Sushrut Clinic’ seeks to bridge this gap and expedite the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

The government plans to utilize this system in public primary health centers, health and wellness centers, sub-health centers, and private clinics. Currently, over 800 health institutions have joined this platform, generating more than 680 health records.

This cloud-based, lightweight hospital management system is specifically designed for small outpatient clinics. Key features include patient registration, billing, MIS reporting, speech-to-text, clinical decision support systems, and the ability to search for Ayushman Bharat services. The system is user-friendly and does not require specialized technical knowledge for operation.

Moreover, only doctors registered in the Health Professional Registry will be able to use this system, ensuring that only certified practitioners benefit from this service.

To promote digital health services, a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and C-DAC. Under this agreement, C-DAC will maintain and upgrade the software, while the NHA will provide financial and technical support.

The NHA will also cover the costs of SMS and application cloud hosting sent to patients. Additionally, technical support will be available to users through a call center.

The base price for the ‘E-Sushrut Clinic’ is set at ₹499 per month for five users. However, with a subsidy of ₹200 from the NHA, the effective fee will be ₹299 per month. Furthermore, the service will be completely free for the first three months. For adding more than five users, an additional charge of ₹50 per month per user will apply.
