Muslim Leader Urges Akhilesh Yadav to Nominate Muslim Candidate for Chief Minister in 2027 Elections

Bareilly, June 22: Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, the national president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has responded to a letter from Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. He emphasized that the Muslim community, which constitutes approximately 22% of the state’s population, believes it has a strong claim to the Chief Minister position.

In an interview with a news agency, Razvi stated, “I have written a letter to Akhilesh Yadav regarding the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.”

He reminded the Muslim community’s significance in Uttar Pradesh, noting, “There are 22% Muslims and 7% Yadavs in the state. The largest share or majority belongs to Muslims. Many times, his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, has been made Chief Minister. Muslims have also played a crucial role in electing Akhilesh Yadav as Chief Minister.”

Razvi further pointed out, “The entire Yadav family has been supported by Muslims. Therefore, I have requested through my letter that a Muslim be declared as the face of the Chief Minister for the 2027 elections.”

He urged Yadav to announce that he would not run for Chief Minister but instead support a Muslim candidate from his own party. “If this happens, Muslims will vote for him in large numbers in 2027,” Razvi added.

He also warned that if Yadav fails to make this announcement, he should not expect support from the Muslim community. “The enthusiasm with which Muslims supported the Samajwadi Party in 2022 will not be the same in 2027,” he concluded.
