New Delhi, June 22: The BRICS NSA meeting held in New Delhi featured significant discussions on the strategic relations between Iran and China. Both nations addressed regional conditions, security, and enhancing mutual cooperation.
The Iranian embassy in India shared on the social media platform ‘X’ that Dr. Ghadir Nezami, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during the BRICS meeting. The leaders discussed regional dynamics, bilateral cooperation, and the implementation of peace agreements.
According to the embassy, Dr. Nezami expressed gratitude for China’s political support and emphasized the need to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing. He stated that Iran is prepared to respond to any potential threats.
The Chinese Foreign Minister reiterated China’s support for Iran’s security and regional integrity. He welcomed the improving relations between Iran and neighboring countries and expressed Beijing’s readiness to assist in diplomatic efforts to enhance peace and stability in the region.
Both parties underscored the importance of continuing dialogue and furthering cooperation between the two nations. Dr. Ghadir Nezami arrived in New Delhi on Monday to participate in the BRICS National Security Advisors (NSA) meeting.
This meeting, chaired by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, included senior officials such as Wang Yi from China and Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia.
The significance of this meeting lies in India’s efforts to advance discussions on global governance, security cooperation, and technological challenges within BRICS. The group is increasingly focusing on strategic and security concerns that impact member countries, moving beyond economic issues.
