Mumbai, June 19: The political discourse surrounding ‘Operation Tiger’ continues to intensify in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar has asserted that Eknath Shinde is not acting alone in this operation; rather, it is a collaborative effort with the BJP aimed at undermining democracy.
In response to allegations regarding six MPs joining Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena and issues related to fund distribution and political shifts, Pednekar remarked on the decline of political ethics and norms across the country. She highlighted the case of Omraje Nimbalkar, who has acted like a true leader, stating that funds are not being released. This, she claims, disrespects the elected representatives and constitutes an injustice to the public.
Pednekar emphasized that withholding funds is tantamount to silencing the people’s voices, only to later sway them back. “What kind of politics is this? Is this morality?” she questioned.
Referencing statements made by fellow Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, she mentioned that she cannot repeat his words verbatim. She criticized those who switch allegiances merely for financial gain, clarifying that by “fund,” she refers specifically to monetary resources.
On the occasion of Shiv Sena’s 60th anniversary, Pednekar remarked that everyone is aware of the faction led by Eknath Shinde, which is being labeled as traitors on social media. She accused them of betrayal, noting that it has been five years since their split. However, she expressed confidence in Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, stating that he will lead the party forward, and affirmed her support for him.
Regarding the ongoing strike by BEST employees, Pednekar stated that the workers are protesting due to unfulfilled promises made by BJP leaders during the recent elections. She noted that voters, having trusted these promises, are now regretting their decision and feeling disillusioned, leading to the current strike. She expressed skepticism about whether their demands will be met.
