Patna, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions escalated in Bihar following comments made by Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi regarding the Jamui molestation case. Manjhi targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, prompting a sharp response from Tejashwi’s sister, Rohini Acharya. She criticized Manjhi’s remarks, suggesting they indicate a decline in his mental balance and political judgment.
Acharya questioned why a Union Minister would resort to cheap and distasteful rhetoric instead of demanding strict action against those responsible. This controversy emerged after police took action against the main accused, Nandan Yadav, linked to a case involving a minor girl in Jamui. Reports indicate that Yadav was shot in the leg during a police encounter, while another suspect, Hare Ram Yadav, was also injured.
In a post on X, Manjhi referenced earlier statements made by Tejashwi, where he referred to Yadavs as his brothers. He suggested that Tejashwi should now accept that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary took action against his “brother.” Manjhi emphasized that the state government would not spare those involved in such incidents.
Rohini Acharya responded by stating that criminals should not be identified by their religion or caste. She accused Manjhi of attempting to link an individual’s actions to the entire Yadav community. She posed the question: can one individual’s alleged crimes represent an entire caste?
Acharya highlighted that Yadavs are affiliated with various political parties across Bihar and the country, including BJP, JDU, HAM, and others. She asked if an entire caste, its leaders, or any political party should be held accountable for the actions of one person.
She concluded by asserting that justice means punishing criminals, not defaming or targeting an entire community.
