Dharamshala, February 28: Central Minister Kiren Rijiju responded to the acquittal of Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, and party leader Manish Sisodia in the alleged liquor scam case linked to Delhi. He stated that if a decision is made incorrectly, higher courts exist to rectify it.
During his visit to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, Rijiju addressed the media regarding the case involving Kejriwal and Sisodia. He remarked, “This is a standard procedure. If there is an error in the lower court’s decision, the case can be taken to a higher court for correction. If a wrong decision is made or if the facts are not properly examined, an appeal can be filed in the higher court, which will render the correct judgment.”
In addition, Rijiju commented on the Youth Congress’s protest at the AI Summit. He mentioned, “I do not have much information about the case, but I have been informed that there might be a conspiracy with some connections involved. However, since I am not currently handling the Home Ministry, I have not been fully briefed on the matter.” He emphasized that whatever the issue is, it should be resolved.
Regarding his visit to Himachal Pradesh, Rijiju expressed his fondness for the hilly state. He stated, “Himachal is a mountainous state, and I really enjoy coming here. I visit often. This time, there are several projects in the Chamba site area related to my ministry. Work is ongoing to advance those projects.”
He further shared, “Previously, I visited Lahaul-Spiti, where many projects are also underway from the ministry. Currently, I will be visiting Chamba before returning to Delhi.”
