Kapil Mishra Advocates for Family, Safety, and Dignity for Children at Svanath Conference 2026

New Delhi, August 22: Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra emphasized that the true measure of a society’s progress is not merely the construction of roads, bridges, buildings, and airports. Instead, it lies in ensuring that every child becomes part of the mainstream.

He stated that every child should have the opportunity to advance according to their talents and potential. Mishra made these remarks while addressing the ‘Svanath Conference 2026’ (From Orphan to Self-Reliant).

The minister asserted that every child has the right to safety, education, protection, and self-reliance. This vision is being realized under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Mishra highlighted that providing children with familial love, safety, and values is not solely the responsibility of individuals or organizations; it is a collective responsibility of society.

The World Humanitarian Aid Council organized this event in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the Delhi Government‘s Department of Women and Child Development.

The conference addressed issues related to child protection, family, education, safety, and self-reliance. Mishra pointed out that if any segment of society is left behind, it indicates that there is still a long way to go, and efforts must be made to reach those children.

He stressed that one of the criteria for social development should be how many Svanath children we have successfully integrated into the mainstream. He added that the goal of a developed India by 2047 cannot be achieved solely through large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.

A developed India will emerge only when every son and daughter of society becomes part of the mainstream, and their capabilities are utilized for the nation’s growth.

Mishra noted that a significant number of children need family, safety, and a sense of belonging. He urged capable families in society to step forward and be encouraged to make these children part of their families, taking responsibility for their education, upbringing, and values.
