Mumbai, August 3: Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will host an investors’ meet and roadshow here on Tuesday. The goal is to attract maximum industry participation and investment for India’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMG), launched last week in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
According to statements, the investment in the TMG is expected to exceed ₹10,000 crore.
Following the launch of the TMG, the first investors’ roundtable meeting took place in the national capital. Scindia announced a commitment of ₹3,500 crore in investments, which could create approximately 14,000 job opportunities. This reflects the industry’s strong confidence in India’s growing telecom manufacturing ecosystem.
The Mumbai investors’ meet and roadshow represent the next phase of this national initiative, aiming to garner more industry participation and investment for the TMG. This event will bring together major telecom manufacturers, technology companies, infrastructure providers, component manufacturers, and investors to accelerate the development of a world-class telecom manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
Attendees will include Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Telecom Department Secretary Amit Agrawal, and Madhya Pradesh Government’s Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi.
The establishment of India’s first TMG is a significant step toward realizing the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in the telecom sector. By creating an integrated ecosystem for manufacturing, research and development, design, testing, and innovation, the aim is to strengthen the domestic value chain, reduce import dependency, promote indigenous manufacturing, increase exports, and position India as a reliable global hub for telecom products and next-generation technology.
The overwhelming response from the industry during the initial investors’ roundtable highlighted the immense potential of this initiative. Major companies and telecom industry leaders have pledged substantial investments in the project, reinforcing their confidence in India’s policy framework and manufacturing capabilities.
The Mumbai investors’ meet is expected to deepen industry partnerships and attract new investments. This will further bolster the government’s commitment to creating a globally competitive telecom manufacturing ecosystem and transforming India into a leading global destination for telecom manufacturing and innovation.
